Outside food and beverage: The Carson City Rendezvous is known for providing a wide variety of delicious foods from its participating vendors, including Indian Tacos, Tri-Tip sandwiches, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, etc., as well as an assortment of confection and beverage stands. Alcohol is permitted on the event grounds and will be sold on the premises by an approved vendor.

Overnight RV or camping: This is not allowed at any time for the visiting public. By nature of the historic recreation of our past, some or most of our re-enactor groups do camp overnight on the event grounds. But as a rule, this not allowed for the general public.

Safety and Security: The Carson City Rendezvous has always been a safe and family friendly environment. There is 24 hour private security on the grounds throughout the event, as well as uniformed members of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office during the event hours. We also have certified EMT’s on site during the event hours in cases of first aid or emergency situations.

Notes of Concern: The Carson City Rendezvous is one of the premier events for showcasing and recreating historic scenes and ways of life in 19th Century Nevada. Our re-enactor groups take pride in ensuring that every detail is intricately woven into the fabric of this living history celebration. With that in mind, we feel as though it is our duty to inform those of you who are new to the Rendezvous that there may be disturbing scenes or situations that may be sensitive to some attending public or young children. Attendees may and will be subject to:

* Excessive and sudden loud noises from cannon or musket fire.

* Battle scenes and combat scenarios re-enacting shooting and death of soldiers and civilians as the scenario dictates.

* Surgical re-enactments where fake (but realistic) blood is used and field hospitals are depicted.

* Historic weaponry and firearms on display and in use throughout the event.

* Re-enactments of Old West gunfights and fist fights which may portray violent lifestyles of the day.

Again…these scenes which may be considered potentially offensive or objectionable to some, are represented in such a fashion so as to educate and accurately portray frontier and historic lifestyles of Nevada’s early days. These portrayals almost always entail detailed instruction or explanation as to what is being demonstrated and its significance and connection to Nevada’s past.
